Introducing Mercedes-Benz Mobilo

Mercedes-Benz Mobilo is valid on vehicles registered after 1 April 2008.

Mercedes-Benz Mobilo is our way of keeping you moving. Mercedes-Benz Mobilo combines breakdown cover and roadside assistance in one convenient package.

Your Mercedes-Benz is covered by Mobilo if it was registered on or after 1 April 2008. Your car is covered for four years from the date of registration.

Want to extend your Mercedes-Benz Mobilo coverage?

Extend your technical breakdown and minor mishap coverage by getting your car serviced at a Mercedes-Benz Retailer. You can extend this coverage by up to 30 years, by staying up to date with our Recommended Service* at one of our Retailers.

Mercedes-Benz Mobilo can help in the following situations:

  • In the event of a technical breakdown
  • If your vehicle fails to start or can no longer continue its journey due to a Mercedes-Benz component failure.
  • In the event of a minor mishap
  • If you inadvertently have a minor mishap which prevents you from driving your vehicle, Mercedes-Benz Mobilo will not leave you stranded. A minor mishap can be something as simple as losing a key, having incorrect oil or coolant levels, incorrect fuel in the tank, running out of fuel or water ingress.
  • Services in relation to a minor mishap are provided at the discretion of Mercedes-Benz
  • In the event of an accident / vandalism
  • Mercedes-Benz Mobilo will also help if you are unable to safely or legally drive your vehicle due to a road traffic accident or an act of vandalism. An accident or an act of vandalism is defined as an external event involving mechanical force suddenly impacting the vehicle from the outside, resulting in the car not being driveable. This is also the case whenever your vehicle is deliberately damaged by a third party.
  • Services in relation to an accident/vandalism are provided at the discretion of Mercedes-Benz.

How long are you covered for?

  • You are automatically eligible for Mercedes-Benz Mobilo breakdown cover and roadside assistance for four years from first registration, if your vehicle was registered on or after 1 April 2008.
  • Extend your Mercedes-Benz Mobilo coverage
  • Your technical breakdown cover can be retained from the fifth year, for up to a maximum of 30 years, on completion of each Recommended Service^ carried out at one of our Retailers.
  • This means, when your vehicle enters its fifth year, your scheduled servicing must be up to date in order to maintain Mercedes-Benz Mobilo. Cover will not be valid if your scheduled service is overdue at the time when you require Mercedes-Benz Mobilo services. However, your cover will be re-instated by completion of this service and will be retained until the next service is due.
  • If you are the owner of a previously-owned Mercedes-Benz you may still be entitled to Mercedes-Benz Mobilo coverage, providing our terms and conditions have been met.

What services are offered?

On-the-spot help

If you can't drive your Mercedes-Benz due to a breakdown or a minor mishap, we and our partners are here to help. If the required repair is a minor one, and can be completed at the roadside, Mercedes-Benz will cover the cost of labour and small parts. This excludes the cost of batteries (unless within the warranty period) / tyres / keys / fluids.

Recovery service

If roadside assistance is not enough to get you moving again, Mercedes-Benz will organise and cover the cost of towing your vehicle to the local Mercedes-Benz Retailer.

Replacement vehicle

If you need a car while your vehicle is being repaired, Mercedes-Benz will arrange a replacement vehicle for the duration of the repair, for a maximum of 3 working days, and will cover the cost of this.

This is subject to standard market conditions and you will need to satisfy the requirements of an external rental company. Costs for fuel, fines, and additional services will not be covered. You will be required to produce your full driving licence and credit card details for security reasons. The type and model of the replacement vehicle depends on availability.

Overnight accommodation / hotel

If your car cannot be repaired on the same day, but you wish to remain in the area to wait for your vehicle to be repaired, Mercedes-Benz will provide hotel accommodation for you and your passengers on a bed and breakfast basis. Mercedes-Benz will cover the cost (room charge including breakfast only) for up to 3 working nights.

Plane / train

If you continue your journey by plane or train, Mercedes-Benz will reimburse you and your passengers for these costs up to a maximum value of £350 per person. These costs can also include travel for the driver to return and collect the vehicle if the breakdown occurs outside your country of residence. This benefit is provided as an alternative to a replacement vehicle.

Taxi / public transport

If required, Mercedes-Benz will reimburse the cost of a taxi up to £55 for you to continue your journey.

Return of vehicle

If your breakdown occurs outside of your local area, and your Mercedes-Benz is not back on the road within three working days, Mercedes-Benz will cover the cost of delivering your vehicle to your local Mercedes-Benz Retailer, once the repair is complete. The time needed to transfer your vehicle may vary depending on distance and location.

Organisational assistance in case of an accident

In the event of an accident or vandalism, we will help you, if necessary, organise the scrapping of your vehicle. If the accident or vandalism occurs while you are abroad, we will help you obtain legal aid and a translator.
